20x26in oil paint on linen. I need a better photo!!!
The cards on the table are an Ace, King, and 10 of diamonds. Diamonds represent greed.
Commentary on gambling addiction.
Who's bluffing?
What is on the table that one could win or lose?
Comment made by my friend dstroh(He knows us all so it is actually a pretty accurate interpretation):
the overly detailed furniture creates a feeling of anxiety. the chairs seem to be swallowing the figures alive, sucking them down into graves that they have dug for themselves, to deep to ever climb their way back out. the deceitful girl on the right kneels on the floor and pretends to have a bad hand, knowing that she's won already. she represents hope and disappointment, always a step ahead of her adversaries but giving them just enough reason to keep trying. the girl standing has no reflection because she is merely a figment of male imagination. a beautiful woman who bakes, sings, plays the piano and is still cool to hang out with? such a creature only exists in the realm of fantasy. she is the unrealistic prospect that drives us to make our bad decisions throughout life. the man on the right is cautious and clever, as smart as he is paranoid, covering his beer with a card to avoid being the victim of any fowl play. he is reason. the other man is quite the opposite. sitting like a tyrant on his throne without a worry in the world. bored with these silly games and comfortable in his position, he takes everything that he's been given for granted. he is egotism, and like all tyrants, he will surely meet his match.
Its such a pity about the photo. I can see it doesnt do it justice. Your such an amazing painter maybe a photographer could take shots of your paintings?

it took me like 3 hours to come up with this, so you better appreciate it. i still dig the bottle in the right corner. you're awesome! i was gonna draw you a stupid picture for your birthday, but i'm not sure if i'm gonna get around to it. we'll see.
lovely painting! It's so realistically rendered, especially the table (I keep staring at the table!) with the gleam, I don't know, it's just beautiful :]
the details just keep getting better and better. What is the little statuette on the table? Why are you hiding your face? uh, I mean why is the woman hiding her face? ;o)
WOW!!! I do appreciate the interpretation and will put it in my description section. haha. It is accurate I think. Especially the man to the left taking things for granted!!
What are you up to tonight? I'll be lonely when the clock strikes midnight and it's my bday. Lame
you're using my comment in your description? i'm so honored!
i can probably come by later. my eyes are kind of bugging me again, but i should be able to get there without crashing. i'd hate to leave you lonely on your birthday!
Beautifully complex painting, Anna and I always appreciate your work. I also thank you (and your friend) for the interpretation which I found incredibly insightful and accurate.
My answer to your question regarding what is the one thing on the table that could be lost - the money!
